Our story
Hi, we're Ljiljana Dimovska and Gabriel Armstrong, co-directors of The Music Place.
With twenty years of experience as a string educator and musician, The Music Place's co-director, Liliana Dimovska M.Mus in Violin Performance, PGCE, MA, is passionate about cultivating a vibrant learning community for children and adults of all ages. It's her philosophy that playing a musical instrument should be a fun and rewarding experience for everybody. That's why she established The Music Place, a physical and virtual space for people to get involved in music through inspirational activities, events and early years programs.
We both have extensive experience in music education as teachers and heads of various departments in the UK and beyond.
We are based in the former Music School Wanstead on the town's high street (above Boots). You might have walked past us many times.
In 2022 we become a Community Interest Company (CIC) where all profits made from tuition fees will directly benefit the community of Wanstead by providing more opportunities for music making and tuition.
With many years of teaching experience between us, as co-directors, we've witnessed firsthand the enormous musical and well-being benefits that come with music-making and would love for you to come and get involved.
